How many college freshman have taken an AP course?

Of college freshman entering the 2011-12 school year, 71% said they had taken at least one Advanced Placement course in high school, up from 67.9% in 2009, according to UCLA's Cooperative Institutional Research Program. Additionally, 21.7% of students reported taking five or more AP courses, up from 18.7% in 2009. The CIRP Freshman Survey, conducted every year, is based on responses of hundreds of thousands of first-time, full-time college students at hundreds of two-year colleges, four-year colleges and universities.
