Fastest-growing Careers

Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the College Board put together three lists of 10 occupations that are expected to have the most job openings between 2008 and 2018 (we've posted the top three in each category). The three lists are sorted by the level of education typically required: Graduate degree, Bachelor's degree, and Associate's degree or postsecondary vocational award.

Graduate Degree
  1. Postsecondary teachers
  2. Doctors and surgeons
  3. Lawyers

Bachelor's Degree
  1. Elementary school teachers (except special education)
  2. Accountants and auditors
  3. Secondary school teachers (except special and vocational education)

Associate's Degree or Postsecondary Vocational Award
  1. Registered nurses
  2. Nursing aides, orderlies and attendants
  3. Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses
