National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

College seniors or first-year graduate students in the U.S. are encouraged to apply for one of approximately 1,500 graduate fellowships that covers three years of research-based study in one of the NSF-approved disciplines of science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Fellows receive an annual stipend of $30,000 for three years, as well as $10,500 for tuition and fees and a $1,000 one-time travel allowance. Applications become available in August.
